PROGRAM:

This afternoon Rotary welcomed Dr. Ron Marshall, retired Economics Professor from NCMC. The talk today was an introduction to the Citizen’s Climate Lobby (CCL) and an overview of Advocating for Carbon Fee & Dividend. The presentation began with a short video, howglobalwarmingworks.org, which allowed us to work from the same definition. CCL proposes that a fee be placed on fossil fuels, based on the CO2 content of those fuels. Revenue from that fee would be returned to the public as a monthly dividend to protect households from rising costs associated with the carbon fee. For more information on this group and the work it performs, there is an introductory conference call every Wednesday an 8 P.M. EST. Please register at www.citizensclimatelobby.org. The call number is 866-642-1665, pass code #440699.
