PROGRAM:
The program today was; “Wings over Gaylord Airshow” presented by Matt Baressi, Director of the Gaylord Regional Airport. Once a year, for the past six years, Otsego County and the Gaylord Regional Airport host the “Wings over Gaylord Airshow”. It is always held on Father's Day Weekend or, June 20th - 21st this year. The event is designed to promote the Northern Michigan Community and its stores and businesses. It also promotes aviation to new generations while at the same time giving local family’s an inexpensive weekend to enjoy, during hard economic times. The airshow is also giving outside communities one more reason to come discover Northern Michigan.
The event operates in part by donations. Funding is needed to pay performers, their fuel and large crowd associated amenities. Again, one of the objectives is to use the airshow to promote business and growth in Northern Michigan. Corporate sponsorships provide numerous opportunities from banner placement, announcer recognition, event guide etc. For more information and a video of the show go to: www.wingsovergaylord.org
