ANNOUNCEMENTS
Name Badges – They have been placed in perfect alphabetical order, so you may find your badge in a different slot.  If you are interested in a magnetic clip backing, please let Jim Wibby know.
 
Madrigal Program – December 10, 2014 we will be treated to our annual performance from the Madrigals.  Please let Roger Winslow or Reg Smith know if you are bringing a guest so there is adequate seating.  Along with the Madrigals, the program will include a piano jazz performance by our very own Howard Richards. Plan on showing up a half hour early to hear Howard and his performance prior to our regular program.
 
Fireside Chat: The following persons completed their Fireside Chat on November 19, 2014:
  • Christian Michael Smith, proposed by Bill Collins, is with the YMCA.  He will bring organization and public speaking skills to the club.
  • Marie Law, proposed by Jane Millar, is in the field of Marketing and there is no question as to the expertise she will bring to the club.
  • Katherine Winslow, proposed by her father Roger Winslow, practices in the field of acupuncture.  This will be our fist father/daughter team!
If you have any questions regarding these candidate, please contact President Steve or a member of the Board.  These names are posted in the bulletin for two weeks, per our club Bylaws.
 
Toys For Tots – Dave Thomas announced the kick off for the Marine Corp Leagues; "Toys for Tots."  Please consider donating a $10-$15.00 toy for a child.  Monetary donations, in the form of a check, are also accepted.  The box for toy donations will be at the sign in desk.  DONATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 10, 2014
 
Diamonds & Denim:  Jane Millar reminded us of the wonderful pictures taken by Sandra lee at this event.  Please go the website and review her work and consider buying a few photos, Sandra’s work was done gratis. 
 
Wreaths Across America – Greenwood Cemetery – Bob Waldvogel announced that all veterans will have a wreath placed on their grave site this Christmas.  A short ceremony will be held on December 13, 2014 at 11:45 AM, followed by the placing of the wreaths in the cemetery.  Everyone is invited to attend.  Assistance in laying the wreaths will be appreciated.
 
Bell Ringing - The signup sheet is circulating.  The date is Friday, December 19th, 2014.  There are three stations – Both entrances of Walmart and J.C. Penney.  Rotarians will be ringing from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm.
 
Fellowship – Steve Cross announced that our first cocktail hour will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015.  We will meet in the Noggin Room at 5:30.  Thereafter it will be the first Thursday of the month.  Same time and same place.
 
United Way – As a follow up to the Alice report, Lorraine Manary, Executive Director of the United Way has invited anyone who is interested in participating in further discussion, to contact her and let her know of your interest.  The community meeting will be held on January 20th, 2015.
 
Spaghetti Dinner – Save the Date.  February 12th, 2015.

Diamonds & Denim - When it was all said and done, the profit was $55,000.  It has been decided that this will be an ongoing event with a community partner.  The workload and the profits will be shared.  Cyndi Bauer has agreed to chair this committee.  Bill Collins will be meeting shortly with community leaders to select a project.  There will be more information forthcoming.  The Diamonds & Denim Event will be held on September 19, 2015.
 
Special Announcement:
The last day to turn calendars back to the club for retail resale will be Wednesday, December 31st.  
 
The last day to turn in any calendar for entry in the 2015 Drawing will be Wednesday, February 4th.
