Petoskey Rotary Club Charities, Inc.
Petoskey Rotary Club Charities, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) that was organized in 1987 as a charitable entity of The Rotary Club of Petoskey. The purposes of PRCCI are, but not limited to, benefit the community by promoting education, lessening the burdens of government, promoting conservation and environmental protection, combating community deterioration, promoting community beautification and preservation and the erection or maintenance of public buildings, monuments or works and other charitable activities.
PRCCI is financed through gifts, grants from the general public, corporations and agencies of the government, and fundraising activities.
Membership in PRCCI is divided into two classes, voting and non-voting. Voting members are limited to persons comprising the membership of the Rotary Club of Petoskey. Each member of the Rotary Club of Petoskey in good standing is a member of PRCCI. Non-voting members are limited to those entities, as designated from time to time, by PRCCI.
The annual meeting of the members of PRCCI shall be held on the first regular meeting day of the Rotary Club of Petoskey in December of each year. Members of the Board of Trustees, other than the ex-officio member, shall be elected at the annual meeting of the voting membership. The Board of Trustees consists of six (6) members, one of whom whall be ex-officio, with vote, the President of the Rotary Club of Petoskey during the term of his or her office, and one of whom shall be the Treasurer, appointed by the Board of Trustees. The remaining four (4) members are divided into two classes each of two (2) members. One class consists of members who have been presidents of the Rotary Club of Petoskey. The remaining class shall consist of persons chosen from the membership at large. To qualify for election to membership on the Board, a person must have been a members of the Rotary Club of Petoskey not less than three (3) years at the time of their election to office, except for the treasurer. The terms of the Trustees are staggered. At all annual elections, two (2) trustees are elected, one from each class, to succeed the Trustees whose terms are expiring the following June 30. The terms of the Boards of Trustees shall run July 1 to June 30. After serving two full two (2) year terms a Trustee shall not be eligible for re-election or appointment until they have been off the Board for at least one year.
The officers of PRCCI are a President, a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer, all of whom shall be elected by and from the Board of Trustees except for the Treasurer who shall be chosen by the Board of Trustees.
