Bob joined the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake in 1989 and served as president in 1991-92. He also served as Chairman of the Membership Committee and Club Treasurer. He has served District 6290 as Assistant Governor, once in 1993-94 and again in 2005-2006. Bob is also a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a charter member of the Paul Harris Society for District 6290. In February 2006 and 2007 Bob went to the Dominican Republic on a World Community Service project for the Bio-Sand Water Filter program, which his club has been involved in and supported since 2003.
Bob has been a Licensed Insurance Agent since 1970 and is licensed for multiple types of insurance products. He incorporated his own agency in 1985, which specializes in municipal insurance. He attended WayneStateUniversity and the Detroit Institute of Technology majoring in accounting and business.
Bob was an assessor in HoughtonLake for thirty years and in 2005 he retired from his assessing duties. He was elected as Trustee, Treasurer and Township Supervisor for 19 years and has since retired from that position. He currently serves as a board member for the Houghton Lake Ambulance Authority, the Houghton Lake Sewer Authority and also serves as a board member and Treasurer for the Houghton Lake Improvement Board, which oversees the water quality of Michigan's largest inland lake, HoughtonLake.
Bob and Diane were married on May 10th, 2008. Diane is the previous township Clerk in Indian River and is currently assessing in CheboyganCounty and HoughtonLake. Bob has three children and seven grandchildren and Diane has two children and four grandchildren. Bob and Diane enjoy traveling, golf and many forms of lake activities.
