PROGRAM:  Dr. Knute Nadelhoffer; University of Michigan – Emergency Climate Challenges.

Climate change is more than rising temperatures—long-term shifts in weather conditions are causing precipitation changes, extreme weather events, melting arctic ice, rising sea levels, drought, and costing Americans billions of dollars.

Scientific studies prove that climate change, formerly caused by natural processes and patterns, is now being caused by human activity and has already started disrupting agriculture and forestry, shifting wildlife populations, and causing many emerging human health issues.

These impacts result in increased insurance rates, skyrocketing energy and food costs, economic consequences for business and tourism—and loss of life.

We need to act now to reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses to restore our climate for generations to come.

Next Week’s Program:  A Dynamic program from Georgia and Reg featuring our new Strategic plan!
