Thoughts on Memorial Day weekend 2023: Instead of going out and saving a few bucks on a holiday sale or ostentatiously decorating your home to display your patriotism, I offer instead to think about our motto: Service Above Self. As I was driving here today, I listened to the lyrics sung by pop artist Pink: You've gotta get up and try, try, try. Because ultimately that's what the people we honor this weekend were doing.
