Song of the Week:  Steve Cross and Howard Richards were back and led us in Simon & Garfunkle’s; "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" (Herb did a little chair dancing) and “Smile”

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Madrigals Performance:  The Madrigals will be presenting to us on December 14th and will be unveiling the Rotary Costume. If you would like to sponsor a Madrigal it is $20.00. Please see John Scholten for details

Calendar Sales:  Jeff Bodette let us know that we are only 1/3 of the way to our calendar sale commitment. We need to get out and sell. If you need more calendars we still have them available

Matching Grant from RI:  John Hurd let us know that we did receive a District Matching grant for $2500 for the Robotics club and will be presenting them with a check for $5000

Veterans Day Honor:  Kent Cartwright made an executive decision to honor Veterans Day this week instead of the day after the elections. He read us his Warrior Creed and honored all our members who are Veterans as well as all Veterans. There are 21 million Living Veterans and we have them to thank for the Freedoms we all share and appreciate

Rotary Foundation Moment:  Doug Caldwell led us in the Rotary Foundation Moment and called on Jane Millar, Bob Maldegan, John Parker., Steve Brummeler and Terry Newton to let the club know why we support the Foundation

PROGRAM:

Christian Smith introduced Elizabeth Looze, Director of Challenge Mountain. She told us the story of Challenge Mountain and how they Enrich Lives and Empower Individuals with disabilities not only in our communities but all over the state. They have evolved from a winter Ski only program to Equine and Ropes programs. All of the programs are done at little or no cost to the participants or schools. They produce much of their revenue from their Resale shops in Boyne City and Petoskey

Nomination Committee Report:  Roger Winslow gave a report from the nomination committee. Voting will be at the next club assembly in December. The slate of nominees is as follows: Board Members first, followed by the President Nominee:

  1. Director of International Service - Reg Smith (replacing Paul Schemanski)

  2. Director of Community Service - Jeff Wynder (replacing Angie Cranney)

  3. Director of Youth Service - Ashley Whitney (replacing Steve Cross)

  4. Member At-Large - Verne Osterlund (replacing Roger Winslow)

  5. President Nominee Designate - Liz Aherns

Robert Rogier and Dianne Litzenburger were nominated to serve on the PRCCI Board

Also we will be voting on a Bylaws change to change the term for Board members from 2 years to 3 years
