Life Events:  Jean Frentz helped President Kent Cartwright present the first Rotary Distinguished Service Citation to Steve Cross for his leadership in getting the mileage passed for the Public Safety Department this past August

Also, please keep Bob Maldegen and BJ Shawn in your prayers. They both need support through some difficult medical issues

Nurses Scholarships:  Terry Newton and Rene Bieganowski, Dean of the Nursing Program at NCMC presented 2 Nurses Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each

Lacey Hinkley and Louisa “Lou” Monroe each received $1500. Great candidates and I am sure the will be an asset to any system they end up in. Thank you to Terry Newton and their committee for all the work they do on this great program

Rotary Foundation Moment:  Dianne Litzenburger gave us the Foundation moment today.  Reminding us to be grateful for all we have and what we can share with the world through our donations to the foundation

Song of the Week:  Howard Richards and Steve Cross, (after passing his tests so he can finally get his high school diploma) led us in “Hey Jude” and “Smile.” It is nice having the dynamic duo back together again

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Toys for Tots:  Dennis Kelly let us know that Toys for Tots started this week and we will have a shortened time this year so bring your toys or money within the next couple of weeks

Salvation Army Bell Ringing:  Jeff Wynder let us know that bell ringing will be on Friday December 16th and signup sheets went around and will be going around for the next couple of weeks. Be sure to sign up for your time

Calendar Sales:  Jeff Bodette let us know we are gaining on calendar sales. We had a great example of where the money goes today. So keep selling so we can fund all of the great things we do

Wreaths Across America:  December 17th starting at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery There will be a group breakfast at Fillmore’s starting at 9:30 a.m.

Slate of Officers for Election:  Steve Brown let us know that PRCCI elections will be next week. He asked for nominations from the floor. Seeing none they were closed

Nomination Committee Report:  Roger Winslow gave a report from the nomination committee. Voting will be at the next club assembly in December. The slate of nominees is as follows: Board Members first, followed by the President Nominee:

  1. Director of International Service - Reg Smith (replacing Paul Schemanski)

  2. Director of Community Service - Jeff Wynder (replacing Angie Cranney)

  3. Director of Youth Service - Ashley Whitney (replacing Steve Cross)

  4. Member At-Large - Verne Osterlund (replacing Roger Winslow)

  5. President Nominee Designate - Liz Aherns

Robert Rogier and Dianne Litzenburger were nominated to serve on the PRCCI Board

Also we will be voting on a Bylaws change to change the term for PRCCI Board members from 2 years to 3 years

PROGRAM:

Christian introduce Mara McMurray yes, Doc had a big smile on his face during the entire meeting for good reason. She gave us an overview of her trip on the Appalachian Trail. She did the entire trail in 5 months covering 14 states and 2,200 miles. Even one of our resident Iron men said he was jealous as it is on his bucket list. This was a great accomplishment and an excellent program
