Questions and Answers
Q. With PRCCI earning between $15,000 and $20,000 from calendar sales, what are the proceeds spent on.
A. We created a savings account balance of around $10,000 to $15,000 in order to have the cash available to pay the bills we receive every fall, when the calendars are printed. We expect that amount needs to remain in the savings account in order to pay our bills in a timely manner.
Annually, calendar sales provides PRCCI profit around $15,000 to $20,000. This profit is reinvested in our community through grants. Below is a summary of the grants given over the past two years:
For 2015 the following grants were issued:
Harbor Springs Area Historical Society $ 1,000.00
Camp Daggett $ 1,000.00
Petoskey Public Schools, Athletic Complex $25,000.00
Voices Without Borders $ 500.00
Manna Food Project $ 1,000.00
Northern Community Mediation $ 677.00
Petoskey Public Schools $ 1,000.00
2015 Total $30,177.00
For 2016 the following Grants were issued:
McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation $ 1,000.00
Petoskey Public Schools $ 1,204.28
2016 Total $ 2,204.28
Q. Why are the meetings longer than 1 hour? The meetings going longer than 1 hour make it difficult for working members to balance work with attending our weekly Club meetings
A. This came up during the club issues and input exercise last spring, when Chris Etienne and Dianne Litzenburger worked with our Club to provide feedback, ideas, and input into strengths and weaknesses of our club. You may recall the red and green paper slips, and the bags to place your ideas in, where we asked for things we wanted to start, stop, or continue doing.
These ideas were then brought to the Visioning Exercise in May 2016, where a group of approximately 30 club members analyzed and discussed the issues that were raised. After careful discussion and debate, the group almost unanimously voted to keep the current meeting times and length. However, the group did emphasize the need for the President to start the meetings on time, and work diligently to end them at 1:30
