We received 9+ inches of snow today. Many brave souls risked life and limb to make it to Rotary, 29 to be exact plus about five guests.

A couple of notable shout outs go to Kent Cartwright and John Scholten. They gave the kids a snow day and then showed up today to Rotary. A big Shame on you for those that did not attend, myself included. I spent the day contemplating the snow removal effort

Life Events:  BJ Shawn is doing well and preparing for her next round of treatments. Jane Millar sent around a signup sheet for meals. If you did not get a chance to sign up give Jane a call

Song of the Week:  Steve Cross and Howard Richards were both back today and it is a good thing we sound so much better with the piano. They led us in Elvis Presley’s; “Jailhouse Rock” and Smile

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Positive Piggery:  Reg Smith let us know that he is the Pączki eating champ. He beat out Robert Rogier and made $200 for our club. He is already training to defend his crown next year

He also let us know that Diamonds and Denim will be September 16th at the Lange Center at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club

Program:   

Jim Bransky, Legal Counsel for Little Traverse Bay Bands, presented the reasoning behind the law suit from their side. It is great to be presented with both sides of such a complex issue so that we can have informed discussions
