Club Anniversaries:  President Bob had everyone who was born in 1967 and Later stand up, the let us know that Herb has been in Rotary long than they have been alive.  He is celebrating 51 years in Rotary

Pete Olson 2 years and Dave Thomas 28 years

Paul Harris Fellow Awards:  Liz Ahrens made the final drawing from the 2013 Paul Harris Pool and Diane was the final one in that pool

Announcements:

Messiah Performance:  Judy Zorn let us know that the Messiah will be Thursday December 14th and Friday December 15th at St. Francis

Toys For Tots:  Bill Collins filling in for Dave Thomas let us know that Toys for Tots is going on for a couple more weeks

Calendar Sales:  Jeff Bodette let us know that we are at our goal of 1657 calendars out for sale

Madrigal Singer Performances:  John Scholten let us know that Madrigal Dinners at the Perry start this Sunday (sold out) and continue until Christmas. See the desk at the Perry for tickets. Also, we will be having the Madrigals at our meeting on December 13th. Be sure to be there

Thirsty Thursday:  Steve Cross let us know that Thirsty Thursday starts this Thursday at the Noggin Room beginning about 5:30ish. Come and enjoy some social time with other club members

Salvation Army Bell Ringing:  Jeff Wynder let us know that Bell Ringing, and we do want to win the gold bell, will be Friday December 22nd. Signup sheets went around. Be sure to get your name on the list and help the Salvation Army to fund their many programs

Holiday Party:  Christian Smith let us know that Santa will be coming back to our Holiday Party on December 20th. Please let him know if you are going to be bringing your children, grandchildren or anyone else who may want to sit on Santa’s lap by December 13th

Wreaths Across America:  Wreaths Across America is December 16th starting at 11:50 in Greenwood Cemetery. Any one from our Club that would like to can meet at JW Fillmore’s at 10:15 for breakfast prior to the ceremony

PROGRAM:

John introduced Cindy Okerlund a retired high school teacher from Harbor Springs who has taken her passion for biking and started Pedaling with a Purpose. Along with the Trails Council they offer a bike program for all 4th graders. The kids get a chance to learn how to ride a bike and then take an 8-mile ride from Spring Lake Park along the path to the Oden Fish Hatchery. Along the way they stop at various historical and environmental locations to learn about native and invasive species and history from Odawa Tribe. This is a great program that started with 9 classes this year and they already have 15 wanting to participate next spring
