Howard Richards was absent, so we recited the Pledge of Allegiance
Four Way Test: Steve Cross
Invocation: Anora O’Connor
As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December's bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same.
Donald E. Westlake
Singing/Song: Petoskey Madrigals were here today so we could not compete and didn’t even try

Announcements:
Upcoming Club Meeting Dates: The next two Rotary meetings fall on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Because of that, we will move those meetings to December 26 and January 2. On December 26 Rotarians present will order off the regular lunch menu. We will also draw the $5,000 raffle winner that day!! January 2 will be a “regular” Rotary lunch buffet.
Please email Reg (regs@staffords.com) if you plan to attend either of these meetings, so he can get an accurate head count for food.
Wreaths Across America: Happening Saturday, December 14. Meet in the back room at J.W. Filmore’s at 10:15 AM to enjoy breakfast together beforehand. Or meet Rotarians directly at Greenwood Cemetery at 11:45 AM sharp. We will remember and honor veterans by laying holiday wreaths on their graves.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing: Happening Friday, December 20 at three locations. Jeff Wynder circulated a sign-up sheet. Bell ringing not only supports the Salvation Army’s work, but it’s a great way to get to know the fellow Rotarian you will be paired with! Please sign up for a one-hour shift.
Toys for Tots: Please bring a toy or cash donation to next week’s Rotary meeting, to brighten the holidays for a child in need. *Next week is the final week for collection.* Contact Dave Thomas with any questions.
Calendar Sales: Ideally all calendars should be sold by January 15, 2020. When filling out the calendar sales form, write YOUR NAME in the “sold by” line. Some folks have been incorrectly writing our club name.
Polio Fundraising: John Scholten said that all three Petoskey Rotary chapters have collectively raised $13,360 this year for polio eradication!! With the 2-for-1 match by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, that’s over $40,000 raised thanks to our efforts.
Paul Harris Fellowship Pool: A new pool is starting! Sign up by January 15, 2020 to be included in the pool. Each quarter, starting with the first quarter of 2020, pool participants agree to make a $50 donation to the Rotary Foundation. Once a total of $1,000 has accumulated in the pool, one name will be drawn and a Paul Harris Fellow will be designated. This will continue until each person in the pool has paid the full $1,000 and all the names in the pool are drawn. Contact Dibby Smith with questions.
Club Election Day: We held our annual election today! Congratulations to the following individuals elected to these positions:
President Elect for the year 2022-2023
