In recognition of Martin Luther King day this past Monday. This is an excerpt from an open letter King wrote while in a Birmingham jail on April 16, 1963:

“I am cognizant of the interrelatedness of all communities and states. I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

Vocational Program Jim Beno

Dr. Jim Beno, DC

Chiropractic Healthcare Past, Present, and Future

Jim has had a passion for chiropractic healthcare since at the tender age of 19 when he suffered a severe injury to his lower back. A local chiropractor helped his recovery without the use of medication or surgery, allowing his body to heal itself.

The Chiropractic profession has been much debated and often called "quackery" by MDs. The AMA had planned a strategy for how to eliminate the profession altogether. Many chiropractors were prosecuted for practicing medicine without a medical license. Jim was accused in 1977 and his case went to the Michigan Supreme Court (luckily, he served no jail time).

Today, Chiropractic Care is widely accepted and the largest drugless healing profession in the world. More than 35 million people in the US visit chiropractors, and more than one million adjustments take place each day.
