Club election of board members: In December we will be electing at least 3 new board members to begin 2-year terms in July 2021, a club president to serve a 1-year term beginning July 2024, and two members-at-large to spearhead the nominating committee next year. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Ashley Whitney (Ashley@harborbrenn.com). The nominating committee will vet candidates and put forth a slate of board members for us to vote on in December.

PolioPlus is a Signature Program of The Rotary Foundation: PolioPlus is Rotary’s priority program which supports global efforts to eradicate polio. It was launched in 1985, with the help of Dr. Albert Sabin, developer of the oral polio vaccine, as a worldwide program to protect children from the cruel and fatal consequences of polio. In 1988, the World Health Assembly challenged the world to eradicate polio, and since that time, Rotary’s efforts, along with partner agencies, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and governments around the world have achieved a 99 percent reduction in the number of polio cases worldwide.
As of 2018-19, The Rotary Foundation has raised over US$1.6 billion for polio eradication. By the time the world is certified polio-free, our contributions will make Rotary the largest non-governmental financial contributor to the global polio eradication effort.
You can help end polio by making a gift to the PolioPlus Fund at endpolio.org

PROGRAM
Today we had the awesome privilege of being joined by current president of Rotary International, Mr. Holger Knaack -- who 'zoomed' with us all the way from Germany! HUGE thanks to Chris Etienne for organizing this special opportunity for us!!!
Nearly 85 star-struck Rotarians from across our district joined in to listen to Holger speak. He reflected on being President during a global pandemic, urging Rotary clubs to use this unprecedented time to reconsider how we want to function. Clubs have had to make many adaptations -- are some of them worth keeping even after the pandemic is a thing of the past?
Holger challenged our clubs to think about where we want to be 5, 10 or even 15 years from now. He would love for Rotary clubs to become more attractive to young professionals. He also would like to see more women join Rotary and assume leadership positions within it.
Holger cautioned clubs to "please select your members well." Look everywhere for people who are a good fit for your club. He mentioned a new diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI) task force that Rotary International has formed.
