Announcements:

Diamonds & Denim:  You can still purchase tickets for individuals, table of 8, table of 10, etc. Link

Reg let us know that we have about $24,000 in sponsorships so far and we are shooting for $30,000. It is this coming Saturday and they still need help with the whiteboard auction and selling raffle tickets for a chance for a diamond pendant

Calendar Sales:  Calendars are in and we had the Blues Brothers direct from Chicago to help promote calendar sales

Roadside Cleanup:  Tim Kaufman let us know the fall roadside cleanup was held September 21. There were 10 people who showed up for cleanup and the task went well and it was one of the nicest days ever. They found a cell phone but that was the only unique item

Billy Duff Cabin Outing for Fall:  Jim Beno let us know that the fall Billy Duff gathering is planned for October 10, starting about 4:00 with dinner about 6:00.  Sign-ups will be going around for the next couple of weeks

Friends @ The Carnegie Programs:  Merry Baxter spoke about the annual dinner party which is their major fundraiser for Petoskey Library that will be held October 7, 6:00 pm at the Petoskey Bay View Country Club. Tickets are $50.00 per person

Pedaling for Polio:  John Scholten let us know that he will be doing a cross country bike trip September 22 - October 30th. He is raising money for Polio. Our club has pledged $1/mile ($3,400 if anyone is counting). He will also be going to other clubs to leverage $ from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for eradication of Polio. Steve Brummeler will be keeping the club up to date on his progress. If you would also like to donate, he is taking donations.

We will be having our regular local pedal for polio ride this coming Sunday so you can donate for this ride as well and every dollar raised will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Steve Brummeler, Gary Baxter, John Emley and Tim Dykstra will be collecting for our ride. We will not have the saddle sores like John as our ride will be shorter

Alzheimer’s Walks:  Melissa thanked the club for their support of the Alzheimer's Walk on September 14. Melissa Thompson has an Alzheimer’s walk September 28 in Traverse City. See Melissa for more details

Program:  Dave Thomas, District Governor presentation

Next Week’s Program:  Pam Colby, Petoskey Plastics
