Song of the Week:  Gary Baxter and Becky Jaques had Birthdays so we sang Happy Birthday to them. Gary Baxter snuck out so he did not have to hear us acknowledge his birthday; please remind him of it next week.
 
The illustrious Steve Cross and Howard Richards led us in Creedence Clearwater Revival’s; “Proud Mary” and then we sang the ever popular; “Smile”
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Diamonds & Denim:  Please begin bringing in your bottles of wine for the Basket Raffle. Ingrid Flemming will collect and store them. This item brings in money and we are attempting to have a live-auction item “Wall of Wine”. We need around 80 bottles to accomplish this. Bottles of wine should be $20.00 to $25.00 in value. This is a very easy way to participate in the event
 
Diamonds & Denim Auction Items:  We could still use more auction items. If you have something of value that you would be willing to donate towards this worthwhile event, please see Cindi Bauer or Ingrid Flemming
 
Jane Millar:  Jane let us know that the next Rotary Leadership Institute is August 29th in Cadillac
 
Dibby Smith:  Dibby let us know that the First Presbyterian Church in Harbor Springs will host the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra recital; "Caprichos for Flute and Piano" August 23rd at 4:00 p.m.
 
Also, this Thursday, August 20, 2015, the performance: “Week of Hand Bells” will be at John Hall Auditorium, at 8:00 p.m.
 
Steve Brown:  Steve let us know that we are looking for sponsors for the weekly Rotary Calendar Winner’s ad in the Petoskey News Review. The cost is $100 per month. Please let Steve know if you are interested in being a sponsor
 
Steve Cross:  Steve reminded us that September 3rd will be the first Thursday social and it will be held at the City Park Grill starting at 5:30 p.m. Come and join the fun
 
Dave Thomas:  Dave announced that we will be heading back to the Perry Hotel on September 2nd for our weekly Rotary Club Meetings.
 
September 2nd will also be the Club Photo day. Please dress accordingly
 
PROGRAM
 
Tim Dykstra introduced Lacey Numer from Habitat for Humanity. She is the Family Services Coordinator. She gave us a great over view of how they work and the process for getting families into their own home. She let us know that there are 30 applications on her desk and they are hoping to help all of them that qualify
